Tick Tock....

- (1/03/09 07:20)
The maximum you & i can probably live more on this earth is 100years - approximately 3billion seconds! What a large number?! However, it's sad to note that 1billion of it is gone cos it's scientifically and generally accepted that we spend one-third of our lives sleeping (except maybe lagosians who sleep for just 4hours a day lol). Thus, we are left with just a little over 2billion seconds, maximum, to make impact in our lives and the society at large! It might be important that we take this into consideration as we step into a new month. Worsestill, you've spent over 300 seconds out of the 2billion just to log onto kobra and read this blog. I'm not left out too as i've spent close to a thousand seconds just to write this blog! Hmm, such is the speed at which time goes and take note that this is even assuming we have 100yrs left. What if it's 50? Happy new month to y'all

Unblock Him Please

- (28/02/09 01:38)
This goes out to those responsible for blocking and unblocking ids. I don't know what 'jimwine' must have done - i know he's capable of doing several bad things lol - but please i'm pleading that you unblock him please. Although he claims to like his new id 'Wyne' more, yet i know he's saying that cos he has no choice. No matter the rules he has broken, fights he has caused in the house or girlfriends he has snatched (trust me, he's a whole catalogue of attrocities), please just forgive him cos today is his BIRTHDAY!!! Hey, i was just kidding with all i said about him, he's a nice dude but i'm nicer anyway and he introduced me to kobra. So, let's all give it up please to Mr. 'i love Wyne id more' as he marks his........how old are you sef.....birthday today. To jimwine!

..serve as the yardstick for qualifying sinners, then the traditional worshippers are far better off cos they follow their rules to the core cos they know it's instant punishment if they err. But no we're sinners cos that's what we inheritted from Adam, that's how we were born and that's what Christ came to die for. It baffles me when people start upholding morals(ie dont kill, smoke, steal etc) as though that's d visa for heaven. Dont get me wrong, we're advised against those things cos they are like d icing on d cake after we believe & are saved but dey are not d cake! Come to think of it, if not doing all these things could tak us to heaven, y did Christ die in d first place? D father rounded off d night wit a stick of cigarette & ur guess is as good as mine, we had a fierce argument on our way home. Hmm, guess it was d pastor in me dt wrote dis blog lol. So, apart 4rm d kindness & sober reflection dt characterises lent period, let's give in more to xtianity dan moralistic preachings!

..to her marrow. He offered us wine which i never hesitated in gulping but trust 'em sisters, they grudgingly refused. I laughed within me cos i marvelled at what religion has turned people to. This same 'holy' people look at listeners of Dbanj with an embarassing scorn but will be the first to take to the floor when King Sunny Ade is being played as though there's any difference between the two - they are both secular, or betterstill worldly artists irrespective of either one talks sense or the other talks crap. I don't drink alcohol but i'm not in the school of thought of those who feel drinking alcohol is a sin. Far from it, alcohol is just like any other drink but it's been advised against cos of its dire consequences on the health as well as the fact that it impairs ones reasoning and judgement when taken in excess. I've often wondered why humans are called sinners in the Bible, is it cos we fornicate, steal, kill, don't pay tithe or what? Cos if it were those things that serves..

The Reverend Father

Since lent seems to be the new kid on the block among various blogs, it wouldn't be wrong if i just add a piece of mine on it. On the eve of the onset last year's lent, i and a couple of classmates were being hosted to a mini dinner in a catholic reverend father's house. He was a tall, hefty and dark man probably in his mid or late forties. After doing great justice to our stomach with lotsa juice, soft drinks and rice spiced with four-legged terrestrial animal, he then took us on a long voyage of talks ranging from the various countries he had visited to socio-economic situation cum religion in Nigeria. While he was doing this, his hands kept maintaining a translational motion between his chilled glass of beer and his moustache-covered mouth. That was when the seemingly religious ones, mostly girls as usual, started placing disapproving looks at him(but they never rejected his juice o lol). He noticed it and took us on a religious lesson that shook even the staunchest of sisters to...
