- (2/07/10 12:24)
Oh yeah, it's official! I'm taking the age-long fabled break from blog writing. Any reason? I don't know! Am i gonna be back? Most definitely; that's why it's a break! When will i be back? I don't know again; could be as early as tomorrow and as late as forever! But i'll definitely be back! I love you kobra blog...please don't miss me cos that's gonna make two of us!

I Hate This!

- (25/05/10 17:11)
It's pure insanity or how else would you describe a situation whereby a sixty-something year old man - placed in a position to formulate laws that will direct the course of the country - chooses a 13year old girl as his fourth (or perhaps fifth) wife while claiming to be rescuing the innocent child from poverty. Worsestill, he claims his religion supports the 'union' and that he hasn't violated any law! What impugnity?! No reason whatsoever can ever justify such an act as it's a brazen act of insanity of the highest order! Yeah, i'm really pissed!

Woza 2010!

- (17/05/10 13:45)
It was 2004 and i could remember vividly the arguments among my mates and i about who's gonna win among the various bidders for the rights to host the world cup come 2010. It was pretty close to call, at first, between Nigeria and South Africa simply because of the innate patriotism (which you try so hard to hide but still rears its head deep within you) despite the fact that you know that Nigeria is still years away from hosting events of such magnitude. However, the choice became obvious once Nigeria backed out and i can still remember the smiles on Mandela's face as SA's name was revealed by FIFA as the host! Eversince, i've been more in love with SA and i really think they'd make Africa proud. Just a couple more days, and i can picture the Vuvuzelas blaring around packed stadia. It's a deserved success for SA considering the hardwork they've put in place (do you know they bidded but lost for the 2006 world cup as well?). Enjoy yourselves SA, i'm proud of you!

Exams

- (13/05/10 16:55)
It's that time of the academic calendar again which i hate with all passion - the promotional exams! It's not the exam period that i really hate; it's the post-exam period when results are to be released. And the reason for the hatred is simple - you'd rarely be 100% happy! If you're lucky enough to get promoted, you gonna have a friend who aint that lucky or you'd know someone you like who's gonna get repeated. I'm at that crossroad again and it's looking as though some of my folks may not make it judging with what's on ground. f*** it, i don't even know if i'd make it myself. I so f***ing hate exams cos it's not a test of knowledge but simply a determination of how many people should fail!

Adieu Yar'Adua

- (9/05/10 15:59)
It was with mixed emotions that i received President Umar Yar'Adua's death last week. On the positive side, the public holiday declared following his death ensured that the exams i had that day were postponed - it was a good news cos i hadn't prepared well for it in the first place. On the other hand, i was filled with pity for the poor man who had to die from one of the rarest diseases that afflict man - Churg-Strauss syndrome! Well, it's believed that no one talks ill about the dead; so, here is wishing him the very best wherever he is.
