>Holiday In Hawaii<

- (1/08/10 14:32)
Here i am, just sitting idly watching mid and post-pubertal boys and girls trudge along to the venue of a birthday party where they are gonna get wasted. Add to this a Cuban cigar, a bottle of Remy Martin, a video collection of Al Pacino and Sean Connery, plus a bowl of fried plantain and egg and you have an idea of my ideal weekend treat! Okay, i might have exaggerated a bit; for one, i don't know how to roll up a blunt (smoke) and neither have i downed a sip of Remy Martin. But then, you have a peep into how i'd spend a vacation in Hawaii if ever the opportunity comes! I love living life - a lazy life i mean! Just two more things to make it a dream vacation - an iPod collection of all Eminem and Michael Jackson's songs; and a cute little twenty something year old to share it all with! You catch my drift *winks*...

Tomorrow Never Dies!

- (31/07/10 16:15)
Is it only me or do you also get apprehensive about the future? I mean, i'm always like, "what's gonna happen to me in a couple of years?"; "will i grow up to be like my dad?"; "am i gonna achieve my dreams or am i just gonna end up being like those who i've been mocking all along?". Indeed, it even gets ridiculous to the extent that i wonder what my wife would be like; afterall, they say every man grows up to marry his own mother! I know it's pretty stupid but i guess it's what happens to you when you fail to occupy your mind with tangible things. Whichever way, i guess it's part of growing up and realizing the huge responsibility ahead of you. It's times like this that i wish we all just remain like kids and never grow up (or will grow old be better?). It's gonna be the 8th month tomorrow; wasn't it some seconds ago i was screaming 'happy new year'. See what i'm driving at; the future creeps up on us steathily that we often forget that today is the tomorrow of yesterday...

1. Nothing unites the world like football. We all speak football. On a final note, i'm so proud of you SA; y'all made Africa proud especially with the whole organisation and full attendance at the stadia. I'm so proud to be African.....

6. I enjoyed the vuvuzelas but is it only me or did anyone else miss the 'oh korea' chants of 2002 or the 'allez' of 1998. Whichever way, 2010 will be eternally remembered in football parlance as the year vuvuzela entered our dictionary.PS: Jabulani as well! 5. As much as i hate to admit, this world cup was jinxed with voodoo. Or how else do you explain Octopus Paul? Hmm, it's high time we started importing 'juju' in Africa cos these white folks simply keep beating us at everything. Damn it!4. Xavi Hernandez is the best midfielder this generation has seen after Zinedine Zidane.3. The best goal celebration of the world cup was German chancellor Angela Merkel's after Germany's third goal against Argentina. She was pacing aimlessly alone in the VIP section with Jacob Zuma looking unconcerned like: "Wow, this woman has got a really nice bum. If not that she's German, she'd make a great 3rd wife."2. South Africa is the real Giant of Africa. Olympics is the next big thing to capture

8. As much as i like the organisation and atmosphere of this world cup, i must say it has been quite ordinary! No fashion sideshow like the Mohawk of Beckham and the special Ronaldo cut of 2002; no media buzz of a Cristiano Ronaldoesque wink like that of 2006; and no edge-of-your-seat, bite-your-fingernails and leak-drops of pee-in-your-panties match such as the Portugal-Netherland classic of 2006 or England-Argentina match-up of 1998. Every match has just been superbly simple - except, well, the final match!7. The opening and closing ceremonies of this world cup was concise, beautiful and interesting. Although not really eye-catching, it was a classic example of straight-to-the-point, brief but meaningful ceremony. The only lowpoint - Nelson 'Madiba' Mandela couldn't make it!
